This is a cheap quadruped robot made from rulers by [RaffX]. It used an Arduino 328 clone but later replaced by a custom board and it is controlled remotely via a hacked cheap RC car controller. And it currently has 2 walking gaits.

It has 12 9g servos which are very cheap, and the overall cost of this robot can be controlled under $50.
To have the robot move around on it’s own, you need a “brain” for it. The cheapest and easiest way to put a brain on your robot is to use a microcontroller.
He tried to keep the height of the robot close to the ground so it’s easier to balance.
